Saily eSIM Review 2026: Prices, Coverage and Alternatives

You have a flight booked, a hotel address saved and one practical question: is Saily the right eSIM for this trip? The useful answer depends on your destination, data budget and whether you need ordinary calls or just internet. A familiar logo alone cannot answer those questions.

Is Saily a good eSIM for your trip?

Saily is worth considering if you want an app-led service, reusable eSIM profile and built-in browsing controls. Its destination catalogue covers more than 200 destinations, but a particular regional or global plan covers only the places in its own list. Fixed-data packages, unlimited options, Ultra subscriptions and phone-number services are different products.

The main buying checks are straightforward: compare the final price for your actual trip, read the high-speed allowance on unlimited plans, and check number-service conditions separately. A lower price is useful only when the package also covers the days and services you need.

Saily prices: a clear comparison with eSIMfo

Turkey provides a useful worked example because both services offer matching data amounts and durations. These are data packages for one traveler, not phone-number bundles. The two brands can use different networks, routing and included features, so this is a price comparison, not a speed ranking.

For 5 GB over 30 days, the difference is €4.19; for 10 GB, €6.54. eSIMfo costs less in these checked examples. That does not make it the cheapest provider in every country. Saily’s browsing controls may matter more to some travelers than the difference in price. Compare the final checkout total in the same currency, and treat credits earned for a future purchase separately from today’s cash price.

What does Saily unlimited actually include?

The Turkey unlimited package we checked showed 15 days for €43.49, with 5 GB per day without a speed cap, followed by unlimited data at up to 1 Mbps. This is a different proposition from unlimited full-speed data. Read the selected destination’s offer before paying; do not apply one country’s terms to every package.

For navigation and messages, the slower connection may be enough. Large uploads, high-resolution streaming and laptop work can feel very different after the allowance is used. Hotspot traffic also consumes the same data allowance. A 10 GB fixed package lets you budget a total amount across the trip; a daily allowance requires planning around each day’s usage.

The app brings destination selection, remaining data, top-ups and optional phone-number services together. Coverage, local networks and 5G

Saily connects through local network partners. The country name on a package does not promise equally strong reception on a subway, mountain road and hotel balcony. 5G also depends on the local network, your handset and location. We have not measured Saily’s speed or latency, so we do not rank it above or below another provider on those points.

For a rural itinerary or work-critical connection, check the permitted local networks for the exact package. If the operator is not named publicly, ask support before purchasing. For multi-country travel, confirm the entire route; a European or global label is not a substitute for a country list.

Does Saily include a VPN?

Saily includes a virtual-location option, ad blocker and web protection. These are useful distinctions when comparing products. However, Saily explicitly says its virtual-location feature is not a dedicated VPN and does not provide the same privacy guarantees. Do not confuse a regular data package with a separate NordVPN subscription or an Ultra bundle that may include additional products.

DNS-based filtering also has limits: it cannot remove every advertisement or prevent every online threat. Keep your device updated and use normal account security. See Saily’s own explanation of its security features.

Can Saily make calls and receive SMS?

Yes, Saily now offers an optional US number (+1). A standard data package alone does not include that number. The number service requires identity verification and the appropriate call/text plan; minutes cover incoming as well as outgoing calls. Check number renewal and country restrictions in the specific offer rather than assuming that every data destination supports every calling function.

Buying a new number does not move bank codes sent to your existing number. Nor does a new number guarantee acceptance by every bank or verification service. Installation: prepare at home, connect on arrival

• Check the exact device model, regional variant and carrier-lock status using Saily’s compatibility guide. Installing an app does not make a phone eSIM-compatible.
• On reliable Wi-Fi, install the app and follow its eSIM installation instructions. Label the line clearly so you can distinguish it from your home SIM.
• At the covered destination, enable the travel line, select it for mobile data and enable roaming on that eSIM as instructed. Keep your home line’s data roaming off unless you intend to use its roaming tariff.
• Check automatic mobile-data switching and any automatic top-up setting. Keep your usual number available if you need messages sent to it.

Saily’s checked Turkey page states that the package normally activates on connection at the destination, with a 180-day activation window after purchase, after which it activates automatically. That is different from the package’s usable duration. The same page warns that access to the Saily app may be limited in Turkey: complete setup before traveling. See Saily’s activation instructions.

Refunds and support: what should you expect?

Saily’s help page provides a 30-day refund-request window for eligible uninstalled or unactivated data purchases. Once a package is activated, a full refund is not automatic; quality problems or a largely unused balance may be assessed. Keep the order details and contact support promptly. For an app-centered experience with browsing controls, Saily deserves a place on the shortlist.
