eSIMDB Review 2026: Compare eSIM Plans Beyond the Price
How does eSIMDB work? Explore real filters, 10 listed brands, price examples and the checks that matter before buying a travel eSIM.

In this article
A cheap eSIM is only useful if it lasts for your whole trip, connects where you are going and supports what you need to do. eSIMDB helps you compare travel eSIM plans across providers; the selected provider normally takes the payment and supplies the service. That distinction matters more than the number at the top of a price table.
We explored the live website, applied travel filters and followed a listing to its provider on 22 October 2026. This guide explains that process with real screenshots, a worked price example and ten brands you can investigate. eSIMfo also sells eSIMs, so we disclose our commercial interest: this is an editorial comparison, not an independent network speed test or a paid purchase test.
Quick verdict: eSIMDB is particularly useful when you know your destination, trip length and approximate data needs. Use it to build a shortlist, then check the exact plan on the seller's website. A long catalog gives you choices; it does not automatically identify the best choice for you.
What is eSIMDB, and who sells the eSIM?
eSIMDB is a search and comparison directory operated by ROKKODE Inc. Its homepage currently advertises over 400,000 plans and 240 providers; those are the platform's own catalog figures, not evidence that every option has been independently tested. Browsing is free and does not require registration, according to its About page.
The practical journey is destination → filters → plan details → provider website → purchase. Under its terms, eSIMDB generally does not sell, activate or supply the eSIM. Payment, delivery, activation assistance and refunds are handled under the chosen provider's terms. Save the seller's name, order confirmation and support contact before leaving home.
The website discloses affiliate links. It may earn a commission when a visitor purchases through a qualifying link, at no extra cost to that visitor. This does not make a listing unusable, but you should distinguish an advertisement, a popularity card and your filtered price results. None is a substitute for reading the product conditions.

How to use eSIMDB for a real trip
Start with a small brief: “Two weeks in the United States, about 10 GB, some laptop sharing, no monthly renewal.” This is much more useful than searching only for the cheapest eSIM. If your home plan already includes sufficient roaming, compare its actual allowance first; a new eSIM may be unnecessary.
1. Choose the full itinerary
Select your destination. For a multi-country trip, use the multi-country search and check every stop in the final package's coverage list. A regional label is not proof that a particular territory, island, ferry or cruise ship is covered. Include any stopover where you plan to leave the airport.
2. Set data and validity before sorting
In our USA walkthrough, we selected Total Data: 10 GB+ and Validity: 14+ Days. These are minimum filters, so results may contain larger allowances and longer durations. “Daily Data” describes an allowance that resets by day; it is not interchangeable with one shared total. A 1 GB/day plan cannot necessarily deliver a 4 GB upload on one afternoon at full speed.

3. Apply the conditions that affect your trip
Open Advanced Filters. We found controls for possible throttling, maximum speed limits, daily caps, subscription plans, voice/SMS, hotspot support, local internet breakout, networks and providers. For laptop work, select hotspot support. To avoid recurring billing, exclude subscription plans. If you need ordinary calls or SMS, hide data-only plans and then confirm the number and allowances with the seller.
Filters depend on the catalog's information. An absent speed-limit label is not a guarantee of unrestricted speed, and a network badge does not prove coverage inside your hotel. Local internet breakout can matter for response time and location-sensitive services, but it does not promise a particular latency or access to every application.

4. Compare the same type of price
Keep the currency consistent and notice whether Apply Promo Codes is enabled. Some offers are for new customers, specific plans or a limited period. A discount displayed in a directory is not proof that you qualify at checkout. Compare the total payable for your entire trip, not just the headline price or a very small free trial.
5. Open details, then verify with the provider
Read the allowance, activation trigger, top-up options, hotspot rules, territory exclusions and refund policy. Follow Official Website and make sure the plan you see there is the one you selected. In our walkthrough, the outbound link opened a USA product collection; we selected the matching 10 GB/30-day product ourselves. Do not assume every outbound link opens the exact SKU.

A price example: why 10 GB is not a complete comparison
We checked the following one-off USA offers in Ubigi's live collection on 22 October 2026, in USD, before promo codes. Using one provider here isolates the effect of duration and allowance; this is not a ranking of the cheapest brands.
| Example | Allowance and validity | Displayed price | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ubigi USA | 10 GB / 7 days | US$12 | Lower total cost, but insufficient validity for a two-week trip |
| Ubigi USA | 10 GB / 30 days | US$14 | Same data, longer usable window |
| Ubigi USA | 50 GB / 30 days | US$42 | Lower cost per GB, but three times the spend of the 10 GB option |
The arithmetic is straightforward: US$14 ÷ 10 GB = US$1.40/GB; US$42 ÷ 50 GB = US$0.84/GB. If you only need 10 GB, buying 50 GB to obtain a lower unit price costs US$28 more. Unused data has no value unless the product's rollover or reuse conditions actually let you use it later.
The 10 GB/30-day provider page confirmed one-time payment, data sharing, activation on arrival, Hawaii coverage and an Alaska exclusion. That geographic detail can outweigh a small discount. Prices and conditions change; repeat the final check before paying. These are listed prices, not completed checkout totals.
Ten brands on eSIMDB, and what to compare
We verified these provider listings for the USA. The table is a set of useful comparison questions, not a quality league table. A brand may offer several product families with different conditions; never apply one plan's promise to its entire catalog.
| Listed brand | Useful distinction in its listing | Your next check |
|---|---|---|
| Airalo | Change data plans and Change+ call/SMS options | Do you need just internet or an actual number and included calls/SMS? |
| Ubigi | One-off, monthly and yearly options appear together | Check billing model, activation and territorial exclusions |
| Saily | Fixed-data and unlimited-style offers | Compare total trip price and the provider's current high-speed allowance |
| Nomad | Fixed totals and daily high-speed allowances | Choose a pooled allowance or daily reset that matches your usage pattern |
| Yesim | Fixed and unlimited offers, including regional options | Check fair use and whether broader coverage is actually needed |
| Maya Mobile | Global and Global + Cruise product families | Do not buy a land plan assuming it includes your ship |
| MobiMatter | Marketplace offers with similar names and different scopes | Identify the underlying package/provider, not just MobiMatter's name |
| Roamless | Pay-as-you-go and fixed-validity data plans | Compare expected consumption with prepaid totals and expiry conditions |
| Orange Travel | Country and regional offers with different durations | Check the particular plan's voice/SMS and coverage rather than assuming brand-wide benefits |
| GigSky | Land, regional and cruise-related products | Verify the exact ship/itinerary and distinguish a small trial from a full-trip package |
For more detail, our MobiMatter review, Yesim review and Maya Mobile review examine those services individually. Read one when it reaches your shortlist; opening ten checkout tabs at once rarely makes the decision clearer.
eSIMDB vs MobiMatter vs buying directly
These are different stages of shopping, rather than three identical products. eSIMDB can even list MobiMatter, so one journey can pass through both.
| Route | Main purpose | Where to verify the purchase |
|---|---|---|
| eSIMDB | Discover and filter plans across many companies | The provider reached from the listing |
| MobiMatter | Browse and buy packages through a marketplace | The selected package and marketplace checkout/support terms |
| Direct provider, including eSIMfo | Choose from that seller's own catalog and complete the order there | That seller's product, payment and support pages |
Use a directory when breadth matters. Use a familiar provider when its exact package fits and you value a known purchase flow. Neither route is automatically cheapest or most reliable. When comparing eSIM brands and features, keep destination, days, usable data, calls, renewal and final currency aligned. Compare eSIMfo on those same terms, not on a vague claim that it is always better value.
Unlimited data, reviews and the details worth checking
“Unlimited” can describe continued connectivity after a high-speed allowance is consumed. Record the high-speed amount, whether it resets daily, the reduced speed and hotspot limits. If you rely on video meetings, a plan that keeps messaging available after throttling may still be unsuitable. A “5G” label describes access eligibility; actual speeds depend on coverage, congestion, device and plan conditions.
Read recent reviews for the destination and product you intend to use. A review of a different country, an old network configuration or a different package is context, not a prediction. Look for specific information about activation, support resolution and coverage on a comparable route. A handful of stars or a single complaint is not a controlled reliability study.
Before departure, confirm your exact phone model supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Save installation instructions while you have Wi-Fi. Installation and the start of validity are separate questions. Keep your home number if you need messages sent to it: a data eSIM does not inherit that number, and a newly supplied number does not automatically receive its banking codes. Our SMS abroad guide explains the distinction.
Who will get the most value from eSIMDB?
It suits travelers willing to spend a few minutes defining their requirements, frequent travelers comparing several regions, and people who want to discover providers beyond the most advertised brands. Its strength is breadth plus useful filters. Its limitation is that the final product and after-sales relationship remain elsewhere.
For a first trip, narrow the list to three viable options. Write down total cost, validity start, coverage, hotspot and support contact. If one essential condition is unclear, ask the seller before buying. This short list is more useful than choosing the first low price among thousands of entries.
eSIMDB questions answered
Is eSIMDB an eSIM provider or a comparison website?
It is a comparison and referral platform. You normally complete the purchase with the provider it links to; that provider supplies and supports the eSIM.
Is eSIMDB free to use, and how does it earn money?
Its comparison service is free to browse. It discloses affiliate commissions on qualifying referrals. Check advertisements and discount conditions separately from your filtered results.
Does eSIMDB always show the cheapest available eSIM?
No guarantee applies. The result depends on filters, catalog updates, currency and promo eligibility. Compare equivalent packages and confirm the final payable amount on the seller's site.
What is the difference between eSIMDB and MobiMatter?
You use eSIMDB to search across providers and follow a referral. MobiMatter is a marketplace where you can select and purchase packages. eSIMDB also lists MobiMatter offers.
Can I find an eSIM with hotspot, calls or SMS?
The advanced filters include those needs. Verify the selected package's actual hotspot allowance, number, call destinations and SMS conditions. A new number does not receive codes sent to your existing number.
Are unlimited plans really unlimited at full speed?
Not necessarily. Check high-speed quotas, daily resets, reduced speeds and hotspot limits on the provider's current product page. The word unlimited alone is insufficient.
Who helps if my eSIM does not activate?
Contact the seller shown on your order confirmation. Keep your order details and installation instructions available; do not post your activation QR code publicly. eSIMDB's listing is not the support contract for the plan.
Which brands can I compare on eSIMDB?
Our USA check included Airalo, Ubigi, Saily, Nomad, Yesim, Maya Mobile, MobiMatter, Roamless, Orange Travel and GigSky. Availability and product conditions vary by destination and date.
