An attractive app makes buying mobile data easier. The more important question is whether its particular plan fits your trip. Yesim combines fixed-data and unlimited travel plans with pay-as-you-go options and separate virtual-number services. That flexibility is useful; it does not make every Yesim package the cheapest choice.
Reviewed on 21 October 2026 by eSIMfo. We sell competing eSIMs. This comparison uses public product pages, terms and official app images; it is not a field speed test or a sponsored Yesim review. Prices are a dated snapshot, without referral codes or multi-buy discounts.
What is Yesim, and which product are you buying?
Yesim is a travel-connectivity service with an app published by Genesis Group AG. Its official site advertises coverage across 200+ destinations. A destination count is not the coverage of every package: open the country list for the exact product before paying.
| Product | Best suited to | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed-data eSIM | A known data budget for one trip | GB allowance, validity and top-up price |
| Unlimited plan | Heavier use over a defined number of days | Partner-network fair-use rules and hotspot |
| Pay & Fly | Flexible travel with usage-based spending | Destination rate and remaining balance |
| Virtual number | A separate number-related service | Supported services, renewal and call/SMS features |
The Pay & Fly product is different from buying 10 GB for a month. Compare the cost of your expected usage, rather than the smallest advertised starting price. A regional package can simplify a multi-country route, but every stop must appear in its coverage list.
Inside the Yesim app: what to look for
The official App Store images illustrate destination selection, geographic reach and installation. They are the provider's promotional screens, not screenshots from an eSIMfo purchase. Any offer pictured inside them may differ from today's checkout price.

Images: Yesim on the App Store. The useful purchase workflow is simple: destination → allowance → validity → activation rule. Keep those four items visible in your comparison, even when an app promotes loyalty points or a discount.
Yesim vs eSIMfo: a like-for-like Turkey price comparison
These three pairs have the same country, data allowance, 30-day validity and EUR display currency. We used Yesim's currently displayed discounted price, not its crossed-out reference price.
| Turkey, data only | Yesim | eSIMfo | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 GB / 30 days | €9.00 | €4.80 | €4.20 |
| 10 GB / 30 days | €14.00 | €7.45 | €6.55 |
| 20 GB / 30 days | €21.00 | €11.50 | €9.50 |
Sources checked on 21 October 2026: Yesim Turkey plans and eSIMfo Turkey plans. The eSIMfo cards identify Turk Telekom (Avea). Matching country, GB and days does not establish identical network routing, speed, support or refund conditions.
For a traveler expecting to use around 5 GB, the €4.20 difference is meaningful. For someone visiting several countries, comparing a Turkey-only package with a regional bundle would miss the point. This table supports a specific saving on these products; it does not establish that eSIMfo is cheaper everywhere.
Is Yesim unlimited really unlimited? Can you share data?
Yesim's unlimited-data policy says partner networks can apply fair-use restrictions. Speeds may be reduced after a network's allowance is reached. There is no single verified daily GB threshold we can apply to every destination.
On the Turkey product page, hotspot availability is described as depending on the operator. If you need a laptop connection every afternoon, confirm tethering and high-speed conditions for that exact plan before purchase. Unlimited data, guaranteed speed and unlimited laptop use are three different promises.
A useful personal estimate is 500 MB a day × 7 days ≈ 3.5 GB, plus a buffer. This is arithmetic, not a usage forecast: video meetings, uploads and streaming can change the result dramatically. Look at your phone's recent usage before deciding whether unlimited is worth the extra cost.
Installation, activation and refunds: check the order
- Confirm that your exact phone model and regional variant support eSIM and that it is carrier unlocked. Use the Yesim compatibility list.
- Buy and install with reliable Wi-Fi before departure. Yesim warns that access to its app/site may be limited in Turkey; make preparations before arriving.
- Read the chosen plan's start rule. The Turkey plan we checked starts on connection to a supported network and must be activated within 180 days of purchase.
- At arrival, select the travel eSIM for mobile data and follow its roaming instructions. Disable data roaming on your home line and automatic data switching if you want to avoid unintended home-carrier data use.
- Keep the order and installation instructions. Do not delete a profile simply because the first connection fails; check settings and contact support first.
Read the refund policy before installation: the stated 30-day request window is conditional, and installation can count as activation. “I have not traveled yet” is not automatically the same as “eligible unused product.”
When would we choose Yesim, and when an alternative?
Yesim is worth considering when you value several product types in one app, a regional itinerary or usage-based flexibility. Compare eSIMfo first when your country and data needs are known and a fixed bundle gives you the better verified total price. For a wider shortlist, see our Saily review, Maya Mobile review and multi-brand comparison.
A virtual number is a separate decision. Yesim's number product page focuses on receiving messages, while its app listing also describes in-app calling features. Check the precise service you buy. A data eSIM alone does not move your existing bank number or promise delivery of every verification code.
Yesim eSIM questions answered
Is Yesim a real eSIM provider?
Yesim has an official travel-eSIM website and apps, with Genesis Group AG identified as the iOS publisher. That establishes the product's identity, not a guarantee of reception at every location. Verify your device, destination and package.
Which provider is cheaper than Yesim?
In our 21 October 2026 Turkey comparison, eSIMfo's 5 GB / 30-day plan was €4.80 versus Yesim's €9.00. The result applies to that product and date; compare the same country, allowance, validity and currency for your trip.
Does Yesim work in Turkey?
Yesim sells Turkey plans. Check the supported network and device, and install before departure because Yesim warns of possible local restrictions on app/site access. Coverage is not a promise of continuous signal everywhere.
Does Yesim include a phone number?
The Turkey travel plans reviewed here are data only. Virtual numbers and in-app calling are separate services with their own conditions; do not assume they are included in a data bundle.
Can I use WhatsApp and keep my existing number?
A travel eSIM supplies the internet connection for an already configured messaging app. Keep your existing WhatsApp registration; changing the data line normally does not require changing that number. Verification or account recovery still requires access to the registered number.
Is Yesim or Saily better for Europe?
There is no universal winner. List every country on your itinerary, including any non-EU stops, then compare validity, hotspot, high-speed conditions and total price. Our linked Saily review gives a separate product assessment rather than an unsupported blanket ranking.
Our recommendation: start with your itinerary and realistic data budget. Yesim's broad product range is its appeal; the table above shows where a simpler eSIMfo country package can cost less. Confirm the final checkout terms before choosing.
