Three days in Istanbul, a week moving between countries, or a month working while traveling: these trips do not need the same mobile-data product. Maya Mobile's current proposition is one reusable eSIM with day-based global unlimited plans. It can reduce the effort of choosing a separate plan at each border. A smaller country bundle can still be the more economical choice for light use.

What is Maya Mobile today?
The current Maya website promotes unlimited data in 165+ countries on a reusable profile, with four plan durations. It also directs previous customers to a legacy site. Older reviews describing a different country-package catalogue may therefore refer to an earlier product.
The practical appeal is continuity: keep the installed eSIM, then add a plan for a later trip. A reusable profile does not mean free lifetime data. Your paid allowance of days still expires. On a multi-country itinerary, check every destination against the current coverage list.

Maya eSIM prices: how much does a trip cost?
The following global plans were displayed on 21 October 2026. They are prepaid duration choices, not monthly subscription commitments by default.
| Global unlimited plan | Total price, USD | Approximate daily cost | Typical trip length |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 days | $9.99 | $3.33 | A short break |
| 7 days | $19.99 | $2.86 | One week |
| 14 days | $27.99 | $2.00 | Two weeks |
| 30 days | $49.99 | $1.67 | A longer journey |
Source: Maya global plans. The daily figure is the total divided by the purchased duration; it does not mean you can buy a single day for $1.67. According to Maya's FAQ, a day is a 24-hour period from the plan's start. Check activation timing before turning it on at home.
Count arrival and departure hours, not just hotel nights. A seven-night trip can exceed seven 24-hour periods if your flights arrive early and depart late. Buying the wrong duration can matter more than a small difference in the advertised daily rate.
Is Maya unlimited data really unrestricted?
Maya's current FAQ advertises no daily data cap or speed throttling, includes hotspot/tethering, and lists 4G/5G where available. This is the provider's stated offer; we have not measured its speeds on a live trip.
Read that alongside its acceptable-use policy. It permits network management in congestion or abnormal use and excludes uses such as replacing fixed home/office broadband or reselling connectivity. Normal travel use and a commercial hotspot operation are different use cases. No mobile plan can guarantee a particular speed at every hotel, station or crowded event.
For remote work, check more than the word “unlimited”: laptop tethering, local network, indoor reception and a backup connection all matter. Download essential documents before travel, and keep a second connection option for a meeting that cannot fail.
Coverage: what does 165+ countries actually mean?
Maya publishes a country-and-network list. For Turkey, our check showed Türk Telekom and Turkcell with 5G listed. Availability still depends on your device, location and the partner network; a country label does not mean every road or room has the same reception.

The separate Global + Cruise product deserves particular attention. Do not assume the standard global land plan provides connectivity at sea. Confirm the ship, cruise line, route and package conditions before paying for a cruise option.
Maya vs eSIMfo: compare what you will actually use
For a seven-day Turkey trip, these are different ways to buy connectivity. The prices below use the same USD display currency, checked on the same date. They are not equivalent products: Maya includes global coverage and unlimited data; the eSIMfo examples are fixed-data, Turkey-only bundles.
| Option | Data and coverage | Validity | Total, USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maya global | Unlimited, supported global destinations | 7 days | $19.99 |
| eSIMfo Turkey | 5 GB, Turkey | 30 days | $5.40 |
| eSIMfo Turkey | 10 GB, Turkey | 30 days | $8.35 |
Sources: Maya global plans and eSIMfo Turkey packages. If 5 GB meets your needs and you stay in Turkey, $5.40 buys the smaller service you need. If you stream heavily or cross several supported countries, Maya's broader product may justify the extra spend. Do not present that price difference as an identical-plan discount.
To estimate usage, 500 MB daily × 7 days is about 3.5 GB before a buffer. This example is not a guarantee: video calls, cloud uploads and background updates can push usage much higher. Check your device's actual recent data history.
Installation and renewal: the steps that matter
- Check eSIM support for your exact phone and regional variant, plus carrier-unlocked status, using Maya's device guide.
- Install over reliable Wi-Fi before traveling, following the app or official installation guide. Keep the profile for future compatible plans.
- On arrival, select Maya as the data line and follow its roaming instructions. Turn off your home line's data roaming and unwanted automatic data switching.
- Check the plan's expiry time. Auto Top-Up is optional and off by default, according to Maya's FAQ; if enabled, it purchases the same plan again at expiry. Review that setting before returning home.

Keep your order information if something fails. Check data-line selection, roaming and APN instructions before deleting the eSIM. Read Maya's current terms for refund eligibility; an old review of the legacy service may quote conditions that no longer describe your purchase.
Which traveler should shortlist Maya?
Maya is a strong candidate to compare for a busy multi-country route or frequent travel where reusing one profile is convenient. A country plan deserves a closer look for a low-data city break. Neither choice automatically replaces your existing phone number or home operator's call/SMS service: confirm any number requirement separately.

Maya Mobile eSIM questions answered
Is Maya Mobile the same as the Maya payment app?
This review concerns the travel-eSIM service at maya.net. It is not a review of the Philippine Maya wallet or banking app. Check the developer and official website when installing an app.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Maya eSIM?
For light use in one country, there can be. Our Turkey example was eSIMfo 5 GB / 30 days at $5.40 versus Maya global unlimited / 7 days at $19.99. Those products have different data and geographic scope, so choose according to your needs.
Does Maya support hotspot?
Maya's current FAQ says hotspot and tethering are included. Its acceptable-use policy still applies; a travel connection is not intended as a replacement for fixed broadband or a commercial resold hotspot.
Will Maya renew automatically?
Not by default according to the current FAQ. Optional Auto Top-Up buys the same plan again when it expires if you enable it. Check your account setting and switch it off when you no longer need renewal.
Do I need another Maya eSIM for each country?
The current global product uses a reusable profile across its supported destinations. A valid paid plan and coverage for every stop are still required. Cruise connectivity is a separate product check.
How should I compare Maya, Saily and Yesim?
Start with trip duration and all destinations, then compare fixed versus unlimited data, hotspot, fair-use terms, activation and total price. Maya's global duration model and Yesim's broader product selection solve different needs; the linked reviews explain those distinctions.
Our recommendation: shortlist Maya for global convenience, then calculate whether you actually need that scope. A well-chosen smaller country package can deliver better value without buying data or destinations you will not use.
