A Turkey eSIM should fit your trip, not just look cheap in a search result. For a few days in Istanbul, a fixed data allowance may be enough. A longer family visit, a coastal road trip or laptop use changes the calculation. Here is a practical comparison of eSIMfo, eSIM.io and Holafly using their published Turkey offers.

Which option fits your Turkey trip?

Start with trip length, total data and hotspot use. eSIMfo has the lowest listed prices in the fixed-data examples below and the lowest price for the selected seven-day unlimited offer. eSIM.io provides more daily high-speed data in that unlimited comparison, plus a reusable OneSIM and pay-as-you-go option. Holafly suits travellers who prefer choosing days rather than gigabytes and value its app and published support options. The lowest price alone does not establish the best connection.

30-day Turkey eSIM prices: compare the same data allowance

These are total prices for packages valid for 30 days after their applicable activation trigger. We deliberately use eSIMfo’s 30-day 10 GB offer rather than its cheaper 15-day version. Holafly’s Turkey travel offer reviewed here is sold by duration with unlimited data, so it belongs in the next table. Open Turkey eSIM packages to check current availability before buying.

Data / validityeSIMfoeSIM.io
3 GB / 30 days€3.45€4.25
5 GB / 30 days€4.80€6.50
10 GB / 30 days€7.45€11.00
20 GB / 30 days€11.50€17.00

Seven-day unlimited plans: what does unlimited mean?

All three offers below provide ongoing data access, but their high-speed and sharing conditions differ. The eSIMfo allowance resets every 24 hours. eSIM.io states a daily reset. Holafly explains that local operators can temporarily reduce speed under fair-use rules; we did not find a fixed daily high-speed threshold for this Turkey offer. Do not interpret that absence as guaranteed full speed throughout the day.

eSIMfo€11.503 GB per 24 hours, then 1 MbpsSupported; shared usage counts toward the same allowance

How much data do you need for a week in Turkey?

Use your phone’s recent mobile-data history as the starting point. As a planning example, 500 MB a day for seven days totals 3.5 GB; a 5 GB package leaves some room. At 1 GB a day, allow at least 7 GB. These are budgets, not measured app-consumption promises. Hotel Wi-Fi can handle backups and video downloads. Navigation, ride booking and messaging normally need less data than long video calls or laptop updates. A 10 GB / 30-day package can therefore be sensible for a seven-day holiday: the validity is a maximum, not a requirement to stay a month.

Hotspot, networks and coverage: the details that matter

eSIMfo supports hotspot on the Turkey products in this comparison; shared traffic uses the same allowance and speed conditions. eSIM.io also lists hotspot support. Holafly lists 1 GB of sharing per day for Turkey, separate from unlimited use on the phone. If two people will separate during the day, separate eSIMs are more practical than relying on one hotspot. The checked eSIMfo plans list Türk Telekom (Avea); eSIM.io lists Türk Telekom, Vodafone and Turkcell; Holafly lists Turkcell and TT Mobil. Network listings do not prove simultaneous access or better speed. Buildings, terrain, congestion and your handset affect reception, and 5G is available only where supported.

Install before departure and keep your home number

Check the exact phone model and regional variant for eSIM support and confirm it is carrier-unlocked. Install over stable Wi-Fi before leaving, then follow the package’s activation instructions. eSIM.io specifically warns that installation cannot be completed inside Türkiye and asks customers to set up before travel; this is its service guidance, not a claim that every eSIM is prohibited. Holafly says its plan starts on arrival when the eSIM is switched on. eSIMfo shows validity from activation; installation and activation should not be treated as interchangeable. At arrival, select the travel line for mobile data, enable roaming on that line if instructed, and disable home-line data roaming and automatic data switching to prevent unintended charges.

Apps, pay-as-you-go and managing the trip

eSIM.io’s Turkey page lists pay-as-you-go at €2.50 per GB. At that displayed rate, 5 GB would be about €12.50 before any rewards, compared with its €6.50 fixed 5 GB package. Pay-as-you-go may suit very light or uncertain use; a fixed package can be easier to budget. OneSIM is the reusable profile, not an unlimited allowance. Holafly offers app-based purchase and installation plus 24/7 chat or email support. eSIMfo lets you review packages and usage through your account. Save installation instructions and support access before departure. Our eSIM.io review and Holafly review explain the broader products without repeating this Turkey-specific comparison.

Our recommendation: choose the allowance before the brand

For light use, compare the 3 GB and 5 GB fixed packages first. For a week with frequent maps, photos and messaging, a 10 GB package offers a clear spending limit. For daily video or work, compare high-speed allowance and hotspot separately: eSIM.io’s selected unlimited plan gives more daily high-speed data, while eSIMfo’s costs less. Holafly’s day-based simplicity may suit phone-focused use if its sharing allowance fits. Before paying, confirm device compatibility, activation, final price and the package’s speed rules. See Turkey eSIM packages for all eSIMfo options; travellers continuing beyond Turkey should check every country in the regional package rather than assume that “Europe” includes Turkey.

Turkey eSIM comparison: frequently asked questions

What is the best eSIM for Turkey?

There is no single winner for every traveller. Compare the total cost, validity, high-speed allowance, hotspot and supported networks. In these checked examples eSIMfo costs less, while eSIM.io’s selected unlimited package has a larger daily high-speed allowance.

How much does eSIM.io cost in Turkey?

On 27 October 2026, its Turkey page showed €6.50 for 5 GB / 30 days, €11 for 10 GB / 30 days and €19 for seven days of unlimited data with daily speed conditions. Check the current offer before purchase.

Is 10 GB enough for a week in Turkey?

It can be a reasonable budget for maps, messages, browsing and some social media, especially with accommodation Wi-Fi. Heavy video, cloud backups and hotspot use may require more. Check your own usage history instead of relying on a universal daily estimate.

Does unlimited eSIM data include unlimited hotspot?

Not necessarily. Holafly’s checked Turkey offer allows 1 GB of hotspot daily. eSIMfo and eSIM.io support sharing, but shared traffic still counts toward the applicable data and speed conditions.

Can I keep WhatsApp and receive bank SMS?

You can normally keep your existing WhatsApp account while using travel data. The compared packages are data plans, not replacements for your existing phone number. Bank SMS still needs the line registered with your bank and your carrier’s roaming support; a new eSIM does not transfer that number.

Should I buy and install before arriving in Turkey?

Yes, that is the practical approach. Confirm compatibility and install on reliable Wi-Fi before departure. eSIM.io explicitly requires pre-trip setup for Türkiye. Start using the travel line according to the selected plan’s activation rules.

Will a Europe eSIM cover Turkey and the whole Sıla Yolu route?

Only if the specific package lists every country you will use it in. Turkey and transit countries such as Serbia must be checked individually. A Europe label alone is not enough to establish coverage.
