eSIM io Review 2026: Prices, OneSIM, App and Coverage

eSIM io is worth considering if you want to manage several trips through one app and a reusable eSIM. Its appeal is flexibility: buy a data package or pay for what you use. The decision becomes clearer when you separate the installed OneSIM profile, your prepaid io Balance and the plan that pays for your connection. They are related, but they are not the same product.

How much does eSIM io cost?

The following examples were displayed on the official Europe page with EUR selected on 1 October 2026. They are regional travel-plan prices, not a worldwide tariff, subscription quote or currency conversion. Check the final checkout amount and the included-country list before paying. [2]

The €0.85 per GB headline corresponds to buying 100 GB for €85. It does not mean a 1 GB plan costs €0.85. The 10 GB example works out at €1.60 per GB. Prices, promotions and payment-channel totals can change.

A practical starting point: 400 MB a day for seven days is approximately 2.8 GB, before extra video, cloud backups or laptop use. This is a planning scenario, not a measured promise. Compare a suitable fixed package with the full unlimited-trip price; buying the largest allowance merely for the lowest unit price can waste money.

Does eSIM io work in Kosovo and across Europe?

Do not assume that “Europe” includes every European destination. The Europe package list we inspected includes countries such as Germany, Austria, Türkiye and Serbia, but does not list Kosovo. We also could not confirm a current Kosovo offer from the public destination catalogue. Older indexed Kosovo pages exist, but an old search result does not prove that a plan is currently available. For a Germany–Austria–Serbia–Kosovo itinerary, check all four stops, including transit use. OneSIM reusability does not extend a purchased package’s geographical coverage. If your next stop is outside the package, the applicable pay-as-you-go rate or lack of coverage becomes important. Keep offline maps and arrival details available until you have tested the connection.

What does the eSIM io app actually offer?

The official app brings destination search, plan management and usage tracking together. Its iPhone listing names GETVERIFY LDA as the developer. Version 2.0.0 notes dated 10 September introduce Global Calls and settings for what happens after a data plan ends. Check the installed version: older reviews or help pages may describe earlier behaviour. App Store software compatibility is separate from the phone’s eSIM hardware and carrier-lock status. [4]

How do you install and activate eSIM io?

1. Check your exact phone model, regional variant and carrier-unlocked status before purchase. Look for Add eSIM in mobile-network settings, then verify the manufacturer’s compatibility guidance.
2. Install over reliable Wi-Fi using the app’s instructions or the supplied QR/manual method. Label the line clearly and save order and support details offline.
3. At the covered destination, select eSIM io as the mobile-data line and enable roaming for that line. Disable home-line data roaming and automatic data switching if you want to avoid unintended home-carrier data charges.
4. Turn Wi-Fi off briefly and load a webpage. Confirm the intended plan is active and inspect the balance. Installation alone does not prove you are using the purchased package.

The official activation guide requires a supported country, correct data-line selection, roaming and local-network connection. A regional plan can become usable at an earlier covered stop. Turning a line off is not the same as cancelling a subscription or pausing the plan’s validity; use only the controls and conditions shown for your purchased product. [5]

How do you turn off eSIM io and prevent further spending?

Can you use hotspot, and is unlimited data unrestricted?

Hotspot support is listed on the Türkiye product page we checked, but that is not a promise of unrestricted tethering on every plan. The current terms specifically allow speed and tethering restrictions for unlimited subscription products, with thresholds depending on country and network. Do not apply a subscription’s monthly reset rule to a daily travel package. Check the exact offer before relying on it for a laptop, family hotspot or video meetings. [7] [8]

For work, ask about usable high-speed data, tethering allowance and the networks on your route. A successful phone speed test would not establish stable meeting quality for an entire trip; we did not carry out such a test. Download large files on appropriate Wi-Fi and limit background backups when using a shared data allowance.

Does eSIM io include calls, a phone number or SMS?

The data plans themselves do not include ordinary voice or SMS service. The newer Global Calls feature is a separate internet-based outbound-calling service where available, charged from credits. It does not provide an incoming-call number, SMS verification or an emergency-line replacement. Check the displayed calling rate before placing a call. WhatsApp can normally keep your existing registered number while using another data connection, subject to the app’s availability at your destination. [4] [7]

Refunds and connection problems: what should you do?

The help centre describes cancellation of an unused Pending timed plan into io Balance. That is not the same as returning money to a bank card. The purchase policy makes refunds dependent on activation, use and the purchase channel. Use the seller or app-store route shown on your receipt, and keep your order details. Do not assume an unused balance is freely withdrawable or that removing a profile creates a refund right. [6] [9]

If data does not work, check the selected line, roaming, covered country, active plan or usable balance, and local-network connection; then restart and contact support. Do not delete the profile as the first troubleshooting step. The help centre describes limited same-device reinstallation, but device changes and reissues have separate conditions. Ask support about your actual profile before deleting or transferring it. [10] [11]

How should you compare eSIM io with another provider?

Use the same route, dates, expected GB, hotspot needs and billing type for every offer. eSIM io’s reusable profile may suit repeat trips; a clearly priced one-off package may suit a single holiday.
