How Can I Install and Set Up an eSIM on My iOS Device?
To ensure you successfully install and set up your eSIM, please check the following requirements before installation:
- Your device must be eSIM compatible and carrier-unlocked.
- You must have a stable internet connection (preferably Wi-Fi). A stable connection is essential for the eSIM to download correctly to your device.
Where Can I Find Installation Instructions in the eSIMfo App?
Open the app, go to the "My eSIMs" section, and select the relevant plan. You can find the installation and sharing options under the "Ready to use your eSIM?" section.
Pre-Installation Preparation
Before starting the installation, log in to your eSIMfo account and follow these steps:
- Go to the "My eSIMs" tab and select the plan you want to install.
- Open the installation instructions (depending on your app version, you may see "Ready to use" > "Install or Share" steps).
- Choose your preferred method: Direct, QR Code, or Manual.
How to Install eSIM Manually?
Manual installation is the most reliable method if the QR code cannot be scanned:
- Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data).
- Tap Add Cellular Plan.
- Tap Enter Details Manually and enter the following:
- SM-DP+ Address
- Activation Code
- Confirmation Code (if available)
- Choose a label for your eSIM and set your new eSIM as the default line for data.
How to Install eSIM via QR Code?
Installing via QR code is the most practical method and can be completed in seconds:
- Go to Settings > Cellular.
- Tap Add Cellular Plan.
- Scan the QR code found in the eSIMfo app (you can use another device to display it or use a printed copy).
- If prompted, enter the confirmation code and label the plan to complete the installation.
What if Instructions Disappear After Installation? Once the app detects the installation is complete, the "How to Connect" section will be displayed instead of the installation instructions. If you need to refer to them again, you can check the installation instructions PDF attached to your order confirmation email.
Connecting to Mobile Data and APN Settings
After the installation is finished, you must perform these final steps to connect to the internet:
- In Settings > Cellular, tap on your new eSIM plan.
- Turn on "Turn On This Line" and "Data Roaming".
- If necessary, enter the APN settings in the "Cellular Data Network" section (details can be found in the instructions within the app).
- To avoid charges on your other line, set "Allow Cellular Data Switching" to OFF.
