How Can I Remove an eSIM from My iOS Device?

You can safely remove eSIMs from your device in the following situations:

  • When there is no longer an active data package for the eSIM: eSIMs purchased from eSIMfo always come with a data package ready to be activated. If your eSIM still has an active data package (has not expired yet), you can see this in your account (in the eSIMfo App or on the website). In this case, please do not delete the eSIM from the device.
  • On non-rechargeable packages: Some eSIMfo eSIMs can only be used once and cannot be topped up. Therefore, when you no longer need to use the eSIM and its duration and usage have ended, you can remove these eSIMs after use.
  • Upon plan change: You can also safely remove eSIMs that you no longer plan to use.
  • When you purchase a new eSIM: When you buy a new eSIM from the store for the same country/region, you will receive a new eSIM every time. The new eSIM will always need to be installed. To avoid confusion about which eSIM is on the device, it is best to always start with a clean installation.

Reminder: If you have an active data package or ongoing usage, we recommend postponing the deletion process until the end of the package to avoid disconnection.

Step-by-Step eSIM Removal Process

To remove eSIMs from your iOS device, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Settings section of your device.
  2. Tap on Cellular (or Mobile Data).
  3. Tap on the eSIM plan you want to delete.
  4. Select the "Remove Cellular Plan" (or Remove Mobile Data Plan) option located at the bottom.

Depending on your device version, this option may also be displayed as "Remove eSIM", "Delete Cellular Plan", or a similar expression. Once you confirm the process, the eSIM will be permanently deleted from your device.

If you have any questions, you can contact the eSIMfo support team.
