A telecom event is useful when the right people are in the room. A travel eSIM business looking for an operator partner, an engineer evaluating SIM provisioning and a carrier buying international capacity need different meetings. This guide compares eight announced events by purpose, with a practical calendar for Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
For eSIM technology and the wider mobile ecosystem, start with MWC Barcelona and its specialist programme. For virtual-operator business models, consider MVNOs World. For wholesale connectivity, compare Capacity Europe and ITW Global. Dublin’s CCT Global is an invitation-only executive summit.

Planning detail: Network X and Capacity Europe overlap completely. Capacity’s pre-event activities begin on 12 October; Africa Tech Festival’s VIP and partner activities begin on 16 November. These additional days are not the main exhibition dates.
Network X, Vienna: network decisions and operator conversations
Network X brings mobile, fibre, Wi-Fi and network infrastructure into one programme. Its 2026 exhibitor information names Qualcomm, Ciena, Nokia and Huawei; the speaker programme includes A1 Group, Swisscom and Drei Austria. These are published roles, not a claim that every company is an eSIM retailer. Network X 2026
Choose it if you need to compare network capabilities or understand operator priorities. Arrive with a specific deployment question and request a technical meeting in advance; a busy stand is a poor place to start an unprepared procurement discussion.
Capacity Europe, London: wholesale and infrastructure partnerships
Capacity Europe is especially relevant to carriers, interconnection, cloud and infrastructure businesses. The 2026 sponsor directory lists Colt Technology Services, Vodafone, Orange Wholesale and Verizon Partner Solutions, among others. Sponsorship confirms a published event role; it does not tell you which retail eSIM products a company will demonstrate. Capacity Europe 2026 Capacity Europe 2026 · Sponsors
For an eSIM business, use meetings to explore the connectivity supply chain and commercial relationships. Ask which team handles your particular requirement before booking. Because it coincides with Network X, choose according to the meetings you can actually secure.
Telecoms World Asia, Bangkok: a regional operator perspective
The Bangkok event focuses on Asian telecom services and digital transformation. The 2026 programme lists representatives from Deutsche Telekom, Circles.Life and Verizon. It is a professional B2B event for adults, rather than a public consumer electronics show. Telecoms World Asia 2026 Telecoms World Asia · FAQ
Consider it for Asian market partnerships, distribution and service operations. Confirm whether your pass includes the sessions and networking access you need. Build travel time around the venue at CentralWorld, rather than choosing a hotel solely by its airport distance.
Africa Tech Festival, Cape Town: connectivity across African markets
Africa Tech Festival, associated with the AfricaCom event series, covers telecoms alongside data centres, AI and digital transformation. Its 2026 speaker listings include leaders from MTN Group, Vodacom and Orange Middle East and Africa. The main event runs at CTICC; selected partner activities take place elsewhere. Africa Tech Festival 2026 Africa Tech Festival · FAQ
Use it to investigate individual country requirements and local partnerships. “Africa coverage” is not a sufficient supplier answer: request the exact markets, supported networks, commercial conditions and support responsibilities relevant to your product.
MWC Barcelona: where eSIM becomes a technical discussion
MWC Barcelona spans operators, devices, infrastructure and adjacent industries. GSMA has announced “Evolving Security in the eSIM Ecosystem” for 3 March 2027, from 12:30 to 14:30. The programme covers security, certification and the evolution of connected-device deployments. Confirm session access separately from the main event pass. MWC Barcelona 2027 GSMA · eSIM 2027
For context, the 2026 eSIM Summit programme listed Giesecke+Devrient, IDEMIA, Thales and Telna. That is evidence of the previous edition, not a confirmed 2027 speaker list. For provisioning, device and security discussions, shortlist the relevant specialists as the new programme is completed. Fira Gran Via is the venue; do not confuse it with Fira Montjuïc. ITW Global, United States: international connectivity business
ITW Global takes place in National Harbor, Maryland, near Washington, DC, rather than in downtown Washington. The official site already identifies AT&T Business, T Wholesale, Nokia and Verizon among its 2027 sponsors. Its focus is connectivity and digital infrastructure partnerships. ITW Global 2027
Prioritise it for carrier, cloud and international commercial meetings. Check the venue location before choosing a hotel or airport transfer. A compact meeting schedule at the venue can be more useful than trying to cover every programme stream.
MVNOs World, Berlin: virtual operators and service design
The organiser’s 2027 sponsor information announces 1–3 June at Titanic Chaussee Berlin. The event brings together MVNOs, mobile network operators, enabling platforms, vendors and regulators. An MVNO sells mobile services using a host network; an MVNE supplies enabling technology and operations. Neither label alone describes the full eSIM supply chain. MVNOs World 2027 MVNOs World · 2027
Consider it when evaluating wholesale access, billing, onboarding or a new mobile proposition. Ask suppliers to show activation, top-up, failed-install recovery and support workflows. Treat a working demo and clear service responsibilities as more useful evidence than a list of logos.
CCT Global, Dublin: an invitation-only executive summit
CCT Global stands for the Global Cloud, Content and Telecoms Summit. Its 2027 Dublin dates are 22–24 June. The organiser describes facilitated boardroom discussions for executives from carriers, cloud, content, data centres and related businesses. Participation is by invitation, so expressing interest is not an admission confirmation. CCT Global 2027 · Dublin
This format suits strategic partnerships and focused leadership discussions. Obtain participation and venue confirmation before arranging travel. For time outside the summit, our Ireland travel guide covers Dublin and wider routes; a city photograph in this guide does not identify the summit venue.

Which event matches your business objective?
| Your objective | Start with | Evidence to seek |
|---|---|---|
| eSIM platform or security evaluation | MWC Barcelona; specialist eSIM session | Relevant technical team, deployment model and documented support |
| Launch or improve a virtual operator | MVNOs World | Host-network access, billing, onboarding and operational ownership |
| Wholesale or infrastructure partnerships | Capacity Europe; ITW Global | Country scope, service levels and commercial decision-makers |
| Regional expansion or executive dialogue | Telecoms World Asia; Africa Tech Festival; CCT Global | Local expertise, market-specific terms and confirmed meeting access |
A practical plan before, during and after the event
- Before booking: define one result you want, such as qualifying two suppliers or resolving a platform question. Compare the total cost of the pass, hotel, transport and staff time against that result.
- Before travelling: arrange meetings with named teams. Send a short brief covering target countries, expected usage and integration needs. Ask whether the offer concerns a traveller’s phone, an IoT deployment or wholesale resale; these requirements are different.
- During meetings: document minimum commitments, network availability, fair-use rules, hotspot support, billing currency and escalation contacts. For an API or platform, request a sandbox demonstration and a clear explanation of what happens when activation fails.
- Afterwards: turn notes into a shortlist with an owner and a next step. Separate a promising conversation from a tested capability. Agree a small evaluation before making a wider commitment.
Prepare your own connection for the business trip
Check the roaming included in your existing business plan first. If you need an additional travel eSIM, compare the destination list, validity start, hotspot allowance and data limits. A regional or global product only covers the countries stated in that particular package; a name such as “global” is not enough. Our global eSIM guide explains the distinction between data-only and phone-number options.
Install on a compatible, unlocked device before departure when the package instructions allow it. Use the activation guide and test the required data-line settings. Download your badge, meeting schedule and venue map for offline access. For a live product demo, arrange a tested backup connection and confirm any dedicated connectivity requirement with the venue; a mobile eSIM is not a guaranteed replacement for a booked exhibition network.
Telecom and eSIM event questions
Which telecom event should an eSIM business attend first?
Start with the problem you need to solve. MWC Barcelona offers a broad mobile ecosystem and a confirmed specialist eSIM session for 2027. MVNOs World is more focused on virtual-operator business models. A wholesale connectivity requirement may fit Capacity Europe or ITW Global better.
Is there a telecom conference in Dublin in 2027?
Yes. CCT Global is announced for 22–24 June 2027 in Dublin. It is an invitation-only executive summit covering cloud, content and telecoms. Confirm acceptance and the precise venue with the organiser before booking.
Can I attend both Network X and Capacity Europe in 2026?
Their main dates are identical: 13–15 October 2026, in Vienna and London respectively. Attending both in full is not possible. Choose the most relevant meetings or split responsibilities between colleagues.
Does a brand on an old event page confirm its next appearance?
No. Check the edition and whether the company is a sponsor, exhibitor, speaker organisation or former participant. This guide labels the 2026 MWC examples separately from the announced 2027 dates.
Does an exhibition badge include every conference session?
Not necessarily. Session approval, invitations, networking tools and evening events may have separate conditions. Check the exact pass description; an expression-of-interest form is not a ticket.
Is venue Wi-Fi enough for a telecom business trip?
It can cover everyday access, but confirm availability and terms. Keep badges and schedules offline, and prepare a tested backup for essential work. For a live demonstration, ask the organiser about dedicated connectivity instead of assuming a public Wi-Fi or mobile connection will meet your needs.
